Popular Nigerian celebrity Bobrisky has reportedly been arrested by officials from the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) for alleged abuse of the newly redesigned Naira notes.
According to sources, Bobrisky was apprehended on April 3rd, 2024, following a viral video circulating online that showed them spraying and dancing on the Naira notes at a party. This act is considered a crime under Section 21 (5) of the Central Bank of Nigeria Act, 2007.
News of Bobrisky’s arrest comes amidst a wider investigation launched by the EFCC into the misuse of the Naira. In recent weeks, several celebrities have reportedly been called in for questioning regarding similar incidents caught on video.
