Blessing Ani, 30, has been arrested and charged before the Magistrates’ Court in Apapa, Lagos for allegedly biting off her colleague, Doris Robert’s lip during a fight.
The two sex workers got into a fight over a client in a popular hotel in Lagos.
Reports revealed that Blessing had accused Doris of stealing one of her customers after meeting the said client with her. Doris was reported to have replied that there was no constant client in their sex trade as clients could want a change of taste, the accusation resulted into a fight and in the process, Blessing bit Doris’ lip off.
Doris was rushed to the hospital after her lip was bit off and doctors regrettably informed her that it could not be stitched back.
The incident was reported to the Ijora Badia Police station which saw to the arrest of Blessing.
Blessing has since been charged to court for assault under the Criminal Code. At her trial, Blessing pleaded not guilty to the charges against her.
The presiding Magistrate, Mr M. A. Etti, granted adjourned the case till 3rd March, 2016 and set bail for Blessing Ani at N50,000 with one surety in like sum.
Blessing is to remain remanded in prison custody till the condition of her bail is perfected.
