Lagos police gets new spokesman

The Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Zubairu Muazu, has named DSP Bala Elkana as the new Police Public Relations Officer for the state command.

This was disclosed in a statement on Friday by the former PPRO, CSP Chike Oti.

in a statement on Monday said Elkana, who had a degree in Law and two master’s degrees in Peace Studies and Conflict Resolution, and Business Administration, joined the Nigeria Police Force in 2003.

Oti stated that Elkana, whose background is in in public relations and information management, was until his appointment an investigator in the Inspector General of Police Monitoring Unit.

He said, “The Commissioner of Police, Lagos State, CP Zubairu Muazu, has appointed DSP Bala Elkana as the new Police Public Relations Officer in Lagos State.

“The new PPRO who took over from CSP Chike Oti on Monday, March 11, 2019, enlisted in the Nigeria Police in 2003. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Law (LLB), master’s degree in Peace Studies and Conflict Resolution and master’s degree in Business Administration.”

“He had served in different commands and held various positions, including operations officer, divisional crime officer, divisional police officer, community policing officer. In addition to all these positions, he was the police public relations officer in Niger and Akwa Ibom states,” the statement added.
