The police in Lagos has arrested a notorious cultist, Ifeoluwa Dodo, over the death of one Ojo Taiwo in the Bariga area of the state.
Speaking on the development, the state Police Public Relations Officer, Bala Elkana, said, “On June 26, 2019, around 8am, personnel of the Operation Crush from the Bariga Police Station arrested one Ifeoluwa Dodo, 19, a strong member of the Aiye Confraternity, at Odo-Eran Street, Bariga. The suspect had been on the wanted list of the police for the murder of one Ojo Taiwo in February, 2019, at Bariga. He escaped after leading eight other members of his cult to carry out the murder.
“Five members of his gang were initially arrested and charged to court for murder. On the same date around 5.30pm, the operatives arrested one Kunle Oyediran, 24, of Ifelodun Street, Bariga, with two other members of his gang. The arrested cult members were responsible for a series of violent attacks and robberies in Bariga. The suspects will be charged to court.”

Meanwhile, the personnel of the Special Anti-Robbery Squad have also arrested two suspected members of the Aiye and Eiye confraternities, Olaiya Tosin and Kazeem Adeyanju, for allegedly planning to unleash mayhem on members of the groups in the Ketu area of the state.
According to Elkana, “On June 28, 2019, around 6.30pm, operatives of the Operation Crush received credible intelligence that members of the Aiye and Eiye confraternities were regrouping to unleash mayhem on each other and unsuspecting members of the public in Ketu and its environs. SARS operatives attached to Ketu on the Operation Crush swung into action and apprehended the following cult members: Olaiya Tosin and Kazeem Adeyanju. Investigation is ongoing.’”
