Chairman of the Lagos State Chapter of the Medical Guild Association, Dr. Biyi Kufo accused the Lagos State of victimising doctors in the state by withholding salaries. He said this during an interactive session with journalists on Saturday.
Dr. Kufo said the attitude of the Lagos State Government to doctors in the state is a motivation for strike actions.
He said ‘‘All appeal to redress the issue has failed hence the state government is pushing us to strikes. We believe that strikes are the only language understood by the government..’’
The Vice Chairman of the Guild, Dr. Salin Oseni also added that the government promised there would be no withdrawal of salaries after the previous strike action but the government has not owned up to its promise.
