2 Min Read

A housewfe identified as Mrs Ogbenyi, has been beaten mercilessly by her angry husband for investing the family’s funds in the popular Marvodi Mondial Moneybox (MMM) scheme.

It was reportedly gathered that problem started after the husband returned from a trip to find the money missing from the safe where it was kept.

On inquiries about the money from his son, Oche, the boy informed him the mother had left the house with a friend who visited them.

Mrs Ogbenyi returned to meet her husband angrily searching the house for the money.

He confronted her about it, and she informed him of her decision to help generate more income for the family by investing in the MMM scheme.

The man, who is working as a driver, descended on his wife and beat her to stupor.

He explained to his neighbors who tried to intervene at their Iyana Ipaja residence, how long he had saved the over N86,000 which was supposed to help them secure another accommodation.

Mrs Ogbenyi tried severally to tell the husband about the supposed income of 30% which she stands to earn in 30 days, but all explanations fell on deaf ears as the husband locked her in their one-room apartment and continued with the beating.

The lady eventually collapsed after he broke a plate on her head, to which he ran away seeing her lying helpless in the floor of the house.

Her neighbors rushed her to the hospital where she is battling to stay alive.

Recall that recently, the house of representatives placed a ban on the MMM scheme and asked the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission to go after its promoters so as to ensure the financial safety of Nigerian citizens.
