The gubernatorial candidate of the Labour Party (LP) in Lagos, Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour, has alleged death threats and assassination attempts on his life.
Rhodes-Vivour of LP and Abdul-Azeez Olajide Adediran (Jandor) of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) are leading the charge to unseat Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, who is seeking a second term on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Rhodes-Vivour has become a frontline candidate for the Lagos governorship since his party won in the state in the February 25 presidential election.

Speaking on Arise Television on Sunday, the architect-turned-politician said that he is the target of assassination attempts.
The 40-year-old confirmed that his team was attacked by gunmen suspected to be political thugs in the Epe Local Government Area of the state on Saturday.
He said available intelligence suggested he was the target of the attack.
“There have been lots of threats. We have gotten a lot of intel about potential assassination attempts on my life. Yes, it happened in Epe.
“We had Honourable Wale Oluwo with us and we also had Honourable Najid of the PDP working with us and they were also shot at in Epe yesterday,” Rhodes-Vivour said.
