The Commissioner of Police in Lagos, Abiodun Alabi has warned Chairman of the Parks Management Committee, Musiliu Akinsanya aka MC Oluomo and Azeez Abiola aka Istijaba to call their men fomenting trouble across the state to order or face the full wrath of the law.

State Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Benjamin Hundeyin stated this in a statement on Monday.

He said that the CP gave the warning when he hosted the two men separately in his office over the lingering crisis between the opposing camps and their foot soldiers across the state.

MC Oluomo and Istijaba’s foot soldiers have clashed in recent times over control of parks and garages in the state, leading to injuries and destruction of property.

The clashes occurred after the Lagos government suspended activities of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW) in the state over a tussle between the national body and the state leadership of MC Oluomo.

According to the statement, “CP Alabi had met with the major contenders – Musiliu Akinsanya aka MC Oluomo and Azeez Abiola aka Istijaba-separately in his office, where he admonished them to prevail on their teeming followers to act within the confines of the law stated unequivocally that he is poised to ensure the security currently being enjoyed in Lagos State remains intact.

“In line with this stance, all Area Commanders, Divisional Police Officers, DPOs, and tactical commanders have been directed to deal decisively with anyone found instigating or causing a breach of peace within their respective areas of responsibility.”
