The National Association of Nigeria Nurses and Midwives, Lagos State Council, has clarified that the suspect arrested for administering an injection to the late Afrobeat singer, Ilerioluwa Aloba, popularly known as Mohbad, is not a registered nurse.
This disclosure was made through a statement released by the Association, Lagos State Council on Saturday. The controversy surrounding Mohbad’s death escalated when the singer’s father, Aloba, raised concerns about his son being injected by an auxiliary nurse before his demise.
In response, the Nurses Association conveyed its condolences to the Aloba family and expressed its support for the ongoing investigation into the circumstances surrounding Mohbad’s death. They called for professionalism in reporting and conducting the ongoing investigation, emphasizing the importance of verifying qualifications and professional status before labeling individuals as healthcare professionals.
The statement stressed the need for a thorough investigation to ascertain the truth in this matter and called on relevant authorities not to leave any stone unturned in the pursuit of justice for Mohbad. It urged caution in assigning roles and responsibilities in the case, especially when it comes to medical professionals involved.
