All Progressives Congress, Lagos State Chapter has picked Secretary to the Lagos State Government, SSG, Dr Idiat Oluranti Adebule as running mate of the governorship candidate, Akinwunmi Ambode.
Mr Joe Igbokwe, the state publicity secretary of APC said the choice of Adebule as running mate is based on the need for gender equality and democratic principles.
He also said that Adebule has a high religious background and a close relationship with the Muslim community in the state.
He added that she was the natural choice of the party when the party leadership decided to select a female Muslim as Ambode’s running mate.
Adebule was born in Lagos State to the family of Idowu-Esho of Ojo Alaworo in Ojo local government area of the State.
She acquired a Bachelor of Art in Education (B.A.Ed) degree in Islamic Studies in 1992. She also has a Master’s degree (M.Ed) in Curriculum Studies graduating in 1997. She bagged a Doctorate degree (PhD) in Curriculum Studies in 2012 also at the Lagos State University.
Adebule was appointed as the Secretary to the State Government by the Governor of Lagos state, Mr Babatunde Raji Fashola (SAN) in July, 2011.
