Argentinian and Barcelona star, Lionel Messi missed his club’s encounter with Malaga on Saturday. He was ruled out hours before the visit to Malaga due to illness.
According to a statement from Barcelona,
“The Argentine player showed symptoms of light-headedness and vomiting and will not be available for the game against the Andalusian side.”
Messi returned to Barcelona on Wednesday after guiding Argentina to a crucial 3-0 World Cup qualifying win over Colombia on Tuesday.
Barca were also without the suspended Luis Suarez as they aimed to move top of La Liga for at least a few hours before league leaders, Real Madrid travel to local rivals, Atletico Madrid later on Saturday.
The absence of the stars were noticed as Malaga held the Catalonian side to a goalless draw.
