In a recent interview with Echo Room, popular Afropop artist L.A.X, dropped a bombshell revelation that his debut song into the music scene, Caro, was originally Wizkid’s. The hit song Caro by Wizkid and L.A.X was a chart-topping track in the early 2010s, establishing L.A.X as a household name in the Nigerian music industry.
During the interview, L.A.X shared that the song was originally recorded by Wizkid, and he later added his verse to it. It was the first ever song he recorded with Wizkid, and after his verse was added, the song was complete. The finished version of the track was so impressive that Wizkid went ahead to shoot a visual for it, directed by Moe Musa.

L.A.X further disclosed that after the creation of the Caro record and video, Wizkid didn’t release it immediately, which caught him by surprise when he eventually did. Despite the success of the song, L.A.X was not in a rush to pursue a career in music, as he was still a student in Manchester while the song was making waves in Nigeria, Lagos.
When asked about his feelings on Wizkid’s sole choice to release the song, L.A.X made it clear that Caro was never his, and it was a Wizkid record with his verse as an addition. The song was released under the Starboy x Wizkid tag.
