The leadership of Kwara Fish Farmers Association (KWAFFA), has acquired a space for fish market in Ilorin.

Its acting Chairman, Malam Sulyman Buhari, disclosed this in a statement on Wednesday in Ilorin.
Buhari said that the space was secured after rigorous and painstaking efforts of the executives.
“I want to sincerely thank all of you for believing in us and our vision to reposition this industry back to where it should be.
“The market will amongst other things do the following: help in solving the ridiculous prices our smallest sizes of fishes are bought by Abuja buyers by making sure we sell at very reasonable prices and also create massive sales opportunities for smoked fishes.
“It will also make readily available our fishes to people in an around Ilorin metropolis at prices that are affordable to both wholesalers and retailers.
“It will help us as fish farmers to contribute our own quota to the economy of the state by showcasing what we are doing and how we are doing it.
“It is no longer news that Kwara is the largest catfish producer in Nigeria and this is the pride of our dear state”, he said.
Buhari also called for support for the farmers, as more infrastructure would be put in place to enable them kick-start in a conducive environment with water facilities.
“This is a matchless, peerless, unparalleled, unsurpassable and outstanding achievement that I have been dreaming to see,’’ he said.
