Kwankwaso Will Get Zero Vote In Kano If He Contests Against Buhari – Ganduje

2 Min Read

The Kano State Governor, Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, has advised his predecessor, Rabiu Kwankwaso not to contest against incumbent President Muhammadu Buhari.

Ganduje said Kwankwaso would be disgraced should he contest against Buhari for the presidential ticket of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for the 2019 general election.

Kwankwaso is the leader of the Kwankwasiyya Movement, a powerful socio-political movement in Kano, and is presently at daggers drawn with Ganduje, his former deputy, over control of the state.

Several attempts to reconcile the two political heavyweights have failed.

However, a move by the APC Reconciliation Committee headed by a National Leader of the party, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, is reportedly being made to broker peace between the duo.

Speaking with The Sun, Ganduje said, “If you read the newspapers today (Wednesday), my predecessor was in Anambra State campaigning to be president on the platform of the APC. I told someone if you reconcile us now, don’t you think we shall fall apart again? Because I am for Buhari. Kano state has a total of 342 delegates. We have the highest number of delegates in Nigeria in APC. No state has up to 300 delegates, and I can assure you if Kwankwaso contests against Buhari in APC, he will get zero votes from Kano. We are waiting for Tinubu, he is a highly respected person. We are ready for dialogue and reconciliation.”
