Killings: “We put our lives, image on the line” – Apostle Suleman says pastors aren’t silent

Apostle Suleman

The General Overseer, Omega Fire Ministries (OFM) International, Apostle Johnson Suleman, says it is unfair to accuse pastors of being silent about wanton killings in the country.

He stated this in a tweet on Thursday.

According to him, many pastors take risks both in private and public to speak against many ills in society.

Suleman said, “I hear people say pastors are silent over killings..what we do behind the scene and publicly are on record..we put our lives/image on the line to speak truth to power..when the backlash begins, the same people running their mouth now joins to condemn us..we have gone thru a lot..”

The Herald reported on July 29 that Suleman charged the people of Southern Kaduna to defend themselves against killer bandits.

He equally berated the Federal and Kaduna State Governments for not doing enough to end the killings in the area.

The cleric noted that when he chooses to speak truth to power, he does so not because of the citizenry but out of personal conviction.

He added, “Till I breathe my last I will speak truth to power..not because of the citizens..most dont deserve it,majority are the same as those govern them..”
