Men of the Nigerian police have arrested four men believed to be responsible for the kidnap and subsequent murder of a Nigerian-born US Army veteran, Chuks Okebata.
Recall that Chuks Okebata bhad visited Nigeria during the festive season in December, 2016 and was reported to have been kidnapped and later murdered in January when he returned to his hometown in Imo state.
Coming almost two months after his death, the men believed to be responsible for the attack were arrested by men of the Nigerian police after attempting to steal the Samsung smartphone which belonged to the deceased.
A social media user on Facebook, Kingsman Chimnonso who shared the photo of the arrested suspects identified as Psromise Uchendu, Kelvin Onyekachi, Stanley Uchechukwu and Chukwu Osondu noted that the men sold the Samsung Galaxy Note 5 smartphone belonging to the deceased for N125,000.
The social media user reported that the sale of the smartphone led to the arrest of the suspects.
The Imo state Commissioner of Police, Taiwo Lakanu while speaking on the development during a press briefing in Owerri revealed that the command has concrete evidence proving that the suspects were behind the murder of the Nigerian-born US Army veteran.
