Kidnappers Arrested While Negotiating Ransom

The Ondo State police command have arrested two persons for kidnapping a 25-year-old Chinese national, identified as Jiang Peng Fei.

The suspects include Adegbayi Akinmusayo and Lucky Akinnuoye.

According to reports, the suspects were picked up before they could settle down to negotiate the ransom to be paid for the freedom of the victim.

The office of the victim, JHX Plywood factory, is located at Akinfosile, Omotosho area in Ore town.

It was gathered that the two  suspects had visited the plywood company two days earlier, posing as one of their customers who wanted to buy plywood.

Unknown to the workers, the suspects actually came on a surveillance of the offices, especially that of the target, nicknamed “Ginger” by his workers.

Dependable police source said the two suspected kidnappers, armed with locally made pistols,  stormed the office of the Chinese national at about 5pm and whisked him away to an unknown destination.

The police swung into action and through a well coordinated operation, was able to rescue the victim unhurt and arrest one of the suspects in their hideout.

The other suspect, Akinnuoye, described by the police as the prime suspect, was arrested in his hotel where the suspects lodged for four days before carrying out the act.

Akinnuoye according to the police command spokesman, Femi Joseph, was the Manager of Keneri hotel, Ore.

Joseph said the suspects put up and planned their operation from the hotel.
