3 suspected members of a kidnapping ring have been killed by able bodied men of a vigilante group in Yobe state who launched an operation to ambush them at their hideout, reports say.
Spokesperson of the Yobe State Police Division, Dungus Abdulkarim who confirmed the incident revealed that the suspects were killed on Sunday August 30.
According to sources, the vigilante group launched a counter attack against the suspected kidnappers after they (kidnappers) rampaged a Yobe community in Dungurum Murfa Kalam village, where they kidnapped one person.

It was gathered that While three of the suspects were killed, three others were apprehended and handed over to officers of the Nigerian Army.
Abdulkarim said;
“It was this morning (Sunday) we received information about an attack on a community under Murfa Kalam village where three suspected kidnappers were killed following an ambush by a vigilante group.
“Presently, the corpses have been deposited at a morgue in the Specialist Hospital in Damaturu while investigations are ongoing.”
Kidnapping in Northern Nigeria has been on the rise following the dilapidating state of security in the region. Several minute groups of kidnappers have sprung up in the country committing heart-wrenching atrocities.
