Following the arrest of Nigerian billionaire kidnap kingpin, Chukwudidumeme Onuamadike along with six members of his gang in Lagos on Saturday by police operatives from the intelligence teams, the kidnap kingpin has named some of his victims.
The kidnap kingpin and criminal mastermind known as Evan revealed to detectives that he could not remember the number of people he has kidnapped or the amount of money he collected as ransom but was however able to mention a few of his victims.
The wanted man in Lagos, Anambra, Ogun and some other states revealed that he kidnapped one Mr. Mbarikatta William Uboma at Festac Town on June 16, 2012, which earned him the sum of N20 million in ransom.
He further added that in a police classified document containing his confessional statement that one Mr. Paul Cole from Ohafia in Abia State was also kidnapped by his gang on August 23, 2012, at Festac Town where N20m was also paid.
he further named one Mr. Mohammed Jamal, a Lebanese, who was kidnapped on August 19, 2012, at Ajah, and paid the sum of N17m at Ojo area of Lagos.
Additionally, Evans admitted that his gang was responsible for the kidnap of one Mr. Kingsley Nwokenta on September 19, 2012. He recalled that the kidnap was staged after the victim left Lebanon Bar in Festac Town. The victim was made to pay N15m in addition to his black Toyota Venza car which was stolen.
He further noted that the kidnap of Mr. Anthony Ozoanidobi on October 10, 2012, along Marwa Road in Satellite Town where N15m was paid before he was taken to Apple junction, Amuwo-Odofin in Lagos and released was masterminded by him and executed by his gang.
Adding to the list of victims is one Mr. Leo Abraham who was kidnapped in Lagos on August 20, 2012, and dumped him at Badagry Road in Lagos after he paid N15m.
He noted however that one Ojukwu Cosmas who sells Toyota parts at Aspanda Trade Fair was kidnapped on January 21, 2016, at Festac Town but was not too lucky as he had to pay $1million to secure his release.
He recalled the kidnap of one James Uduji who abducted at Seventh Avenue, Festac Town late last year and was made to pay $1.2m after being held for six weeks.
Chief Raymond Okoye Odu-Na–Ichida also fell victim and was made to pay $1million before regaining his freedom.
Another victim, Uche Okoroafor, a trader at Alaba International Market, Lagos, was kidnapped by the gang in 2015 and made to pay $1million after he was held captive for three months and another, Elias Ukachukwu, paid a like sum after he was abducted in November, 2015.
One Francis Umeh, a dealer in spare parts at Aspanda also paid $1million to secure his release after he was kidnapped in July 2016 at Raji Rasaki Estate.
Other kidnaps however did not fare well for the group as in 2013, in its attempt to kidnap Chief Vincent Obianudo, the owner of Young Shall Grow Motors, the gang met with policemen who fought hard leading to the loss of two members of the gang.
Evans however noted that his last victim in Lagos before he was arrested was one Mr. Donatus Dunu, a pharmacist and importer of drugs, who was kidnapped on February 14, 2017, in Elupeju area of Lagos. The victim was made to pay the sim of N150million to secure his release but Evans on the flip side collected the money and refused to release the victim, insisting that an additional N300m must be paid.
Mr. Dunu however escaped from Evans and his group on May 12, 2017, without paying the additional ransom.
In Edo State, Evans recalled the kidnap of one Mr. Ohunyon Ernest in November 2011 who was made to pay N85m, Mr. Dan Odiete in 2013 who paid N100m , the owner of Uyi Technical kidnapped in 2013 and made to pay N100m while another, Tom, kidnapped in Benin in 2012, paid N100m.
Others include the owner of Kings Paint kidnapped in 2010 and made to pay N40 million and another, Mr. Randeki in 2010 who paid N30 million to secure his release.
