Keyamo’s Appointment Shows Buhari’s Hypocrisy – Afenifere

2 Min Read

Yinka Odumakin, the spokesman of Yoruba’s apex socio-cultural group, Afenifere, has described as hypocritical the announcement of popular lawyer, Festus Keyamo (SAN) as the official spokesman of the President Muhammadu Buhari Campaign Organisation for 2019 while the president continued to say he was not focused on the election.

Odumakin made this known in an interview with The Sun on Tuesday.

Keyamo had trended on social media throughout Tuesday after posting a copy of his appointment letter as the Director of Strategic Communications for the president’s second-term bid.

He was however silent on whether he would accept the appointment.

But speaking on the appointment, Odumakin said that Keyamo was free to accept or reject whatever appointment he wished.

He said, “He has the right to accept any job that he wants to and Buhari can appoint anyone that he wants as well.

“But, there is so much hypocrisy surrounding this appointment.

“Buhari was with Theresa May of Britain, on Monday, where he said that while others where fixated on the next election, he is concentrating on improving the economy of the country, but, while he was making that statement, Chibuike Amaechi was writing an appointment letter for a spokesman for a campaign for which he is yet to win the ticket of his party.

“Is that not hypocrisy?

“His party has not held its primary and he has already started appointing people for his campaign.”
