Kelly Clarkson Files For Divorce From Husband After Seven Years Of Marriage

American singer, Kelly Clarkson has filed for divorce from her husband after almost seven years of marriage.

According to court documents obtained by The Blast, Kelly Clarkson filed for divorce to end her marriage to Brandon Blackstock in Los Angeles last week.

The 38-year-old Clarkson and 43-year-old Blackstock have a 5-year-old daughter and a 4-year-old son together.

Clarkson cited irreconcilable differences as the reason for the divorce and requested that she not be required to pay Blackstock spousal support.

Kelly also requests that her surname be changed back to Clarkson and it indicates that the couple had a prenuptial agreement.

According to E! news, The duo first met at the Academy of Country Music Awards in 2006 when Clarkson was rehearsing with Rascal Flatts.

In December 2012, after 10 months of dating, Clarkson announced their engagement on Twitter: “I’M ENGAGED!!!!! I wanted y’all to know!! Happiest night of my life last night! I am so lucky and am with the greatest man ever.”

The news of their divorce comes just weeks after Kelly Clarkson, who is said to be worth $45 million put her Encino, California home up for sale at a selling price of $10 million.
