American singer-songwriter Kehlani Ashley Parrish, widely known as “Kehlani,” has revealed that her support for Palestine has led to significant professional setbacks. In a candid interview with the ‘Breakfast Club’ released early Tuesday, Kehlani discussed the repercussions of her stance.
“I have experienced a lot of pushback,” Kehlani shared. “I’ve faced numerous losses, including promised opportunities and brand deals that were crucial for my album rollout. Despite these setbacks, I don’t regret my decision. I can sleep at night knowing that I stayed true to my beliefs as an artist.”
Just weeks ago, Kehlani expressed her support for Palestine in an Instagram post on May 29th and featured the Palestinian flag in her music video for ‘Next 2 U,’ released on May 31st. Her advocacy efforts have helped raise $500,000 for the people of Gaza, Congo, and Sudan.
