Armed robbers have spread panic within an Ogun state community after the armed men sent a letter informing residents of Anglican Road, Ilupewo community in Ado-Odo-Otta Local Government Area to keep their share of the festive season’s bounty.
The robbers, who according to reports posted the letters on gates and doors of the residents in the community, demanded that their Christmas gifts should be set aside as they’ll be visiting the community soon.
Following the discovery of the note, panic has spread among residents of the Ogun state community as some have responded to the threat by vacating their residence.
Speaking on the threat, the Ogun State Commissioner of Police, Ahmed Iliyasu called on residents of the area to remain calm.
Reports further revealed that the letters addressed to the residents of the area bore incomplete phone numbers – 0702288949, 080449930 – and further noted that excuses will not be allowed from residents of the area.
Further on the development, the Ogun state CP noted that over 60 houses had the letters, addressed in Yoruba, attached to their doorposts.
The CP, while assuring residents of the area, said: “We are on top of the situation and security has been beefed up in the community.”
