Mr Ibrahim Shawai, Head, Corporate Communications of the company, stated this in a statement on Friday in Kano.
Shawai lamented the spate of theft and vandalisation of critical infrastructure such as transformer and transformer oil in its franchise areas.
He said: “We are working tirelessly to secure our network through massive infrastructural investment as well as maintenance in order to serve our customers better. It is unfortunate that vandals are sabotaging these efforts.
“This has been responsible for the recent lack of supply in some locations and we won’t take that anymore.”
Shawai frawned at the trend which, he said was inimical to sustainable social and economic development, warning that vandals would be prosecuted.
While calling on the people to take responsibility in ensuring protection of the installations, Shawai urged them to report any suspicious persons and movement to the security agencies.
