No fewer than four members of the National Assembly from Katsina Central Senatorial Zone will contest the 2019 General Election after winning their party’s primaries.
“Those that won primaries are Ahmed Safana, Safana/Batsari; Aminu Ashiru Mani/Bindawa; Mansur Ali, Mashi/Dutsi and Murtala Isah, Kankara/Sabuwa.

Alhaji Ahmed Mohammed, the state Public Relations officer of APC told NAN on Saturday in Katsina that four serving members won the party’s primaries in their constituencies.
“Those that lost their primaries were, Sani Aliyu Danlami representing Katsina Central, who was defeated by Salisu Iro-Isensi and Kabir Lawal representing Charanchi/Rimi/Batagarawa Federal Constituency who was defeated by Hamza Danharu.
“Other members that were defeated are Mohammed Salisu representing Jibia/Kaita Federal Constituency who was edged out by a former member of the National Assembly Sada Soli Jibiya.
“Another serving member of the National Assembly that was defeated is Alhaji Danlami Kurfi representing Kurfi/Dutsinma Federal Constituency who was beaten by Alhaji Armayau Abdul-Kabir,” he said
The PRO said that the current Speaker of Katsina House of Assembly, Alhaji Abubakar Kusada has also won the party’s primaries to contest in Kusada/Kankia Federal Constituency.
He said that Kusada defeated a former National Assembly member, Musa Salisu Kafinsoli who served in 2011-2015.
NAN reports that the Kusada /Kankia Federal Constituency had become vacant following the election of its representative, Ahmed Babba -Kaita as Senator for Daura zone in July.
