Governors elected on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) have come under intense condemnation for allegedly scheduling an induction and investment retreat in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.
A poster that has since gone viral on social media showed that the week-long retreat would hold between May 16 – 22, 2019 at “The Retreat Palm Dubai, MGallery by Sofitel East Crescent, The Palm Jumeirah, Dubai, United Arab Emirates.
Popular Nollywood actress, Kate Henshaw condemned the Dubai retreat, saying it would only succeed in growing another nation’s economy at the expense of Nigeria’s.
Commenting on Twitter, Henshaw wrote:
That's all they know.
Grow other countries economy except ours.
One day na one day.
I will be alive to see it .. https://t.co/Qn2OrOUqJO

However, the PDP has distanced itself from the poster, saying it was not aware of the retreat themed: “Getting Ready for the Task.”
“I’m not aware,” Daily Trust quoted National Publicity Secretary of the party, Kola Ologbondiyan as saying when asked about knowledge of the retreat.
The Herald recalls that PDP leaders led by National Chairman, Prince Uche Secondus as well as the party’s presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar held a strategy meeting in Dubai, prior to the 2019 general election.
