Kanye West has launched a withering attack on Bill Cosby in his latest track – which reaffirms his presidential aspirations and takes down both Nike and former Miss Universe host Steve Harvey.
The surprise record Facts, released online on New Year’s Eve in the U.S., takes aim at Cosby just a day after he was charged with aggravated sexual assault. In 2015, more than 50 women accused comedian of rape.
‘Do anybody feel bad for Bill Cosby?’ he asks
‘Did he forget the names just like Steve Harvey?’ he says, in reference to the moment Harvey called out the wrong name as the winner of Miss Universe last week. The song also accuses Nike of treating employees like slaves, making a direct comparison between the sports firm and its rival Adidas – which has sponsored Kanye since 2013.
He switched from Nike to Adidas for a $10 million deal. The lyrics also seem to take on Drake’s song with Future, Jumpman, by saying: ‘Yeezy, Yeezy, Yeezy, Just jumped over Jumpman.’
Kim Kardashian West, the rapper’s wife, promoted the track minutes before it was released with a tweet that echoed the lyrics: ‘Yeezy Yeezy Yeezy New Song About To Drop #Facts’.
Kanye first tabled his presidential ambitions at the MTV Video Music Awards in August. ‘As you probably could’ve guessed by this moment, I have decided, in 2020, to run for president.’ ‘Y’all might be thinking right now, “I wonder did he smoke something before he came out here?” And the answer is yes, I rolled up a little something, I knocked the edge off,’ he said.
Kim reveals plans to decorate White House if Kanye is president.
