The Management of Kano State Polytechnic on Saturday presented two automatic handwashing machines fabricated by its staff and students to the state government.
Presenting the machines, the Rector of the Polytechnic, Prof. Mukhtar Atiku, said that fabrication of the two solar-operated machines was to contribute to the fight against the spread of COVID-19.
Atiku noted that if the management got more support, the institution could produce the product in large quantities for distribution, especially to schools to prevent the spread of the pandemic.

According to him, another set of students has also fabricated a ventilating machine and the management has taken it to the Aminu Kano Teaching Hospital (AKTH) for verification.
“We have also produced CCTV that can be used to assist security agents in securing the state,” he said.
Responding, Gov. Abdullahi Ganduje commended their efforts for fabricating such modern handwashing machines.
He said that it was a good development, especially now that regular handwashing was one of the protocols for COVID-19 prevention.
Ganduje assured the management of the polytechnic that his administration was always ready to give necessary support on anything that was beneficial to the public.
