Three patients who were positive to COVID-19 pandemic are now confirmed to be free of the virus, after spending about three weeks at a Kano State isolation centre
The state task force coordinator Dr Tijani Hussain briefed journalists the present situation on COVID-19 update in Kano. He disclosed that the three patients were discharged after testing negative for the disease twice.

Tijani, who emphasised that the taskforce is strictly operating on the guidelines of the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) on admission and discharge of cases, said more patients on isolation centre will be discharged this week after they have tested negative.
Tijani further added that , “Kano positive cases still stand at 365 including eight deaths and three discharges. So far we have collected 313 samples, 182 tested at Abuja, 60 at AKTH and 71 confirmed at BUK test centres. So far we have 22.8 per cent of positive cases in Kano.
“We are on contact tracing of over 400, 64 are without symptoms and 7 are positive. We still have the challenge of resistance and non-disclosure of status from our contacts. We are presently working on the instruction of the Governor to establish sample collections across the 44 local government areas of the state and that shall be achieved by the grace of God”.
The coordinator appealed to the public to abide by the regulations of the NCDC on social distancing, intermittent hand sanitizing, personal hygiene and wearing of face mask to mitigate the spread of the virus in the state.
kano state has recorded 342 confirmed cases of COVID-19, being the highest number behind Lagos state with 1,107 recorded cases.
