A Chief Magistrates’ Court sitting in Kano on Tuesday ordered the remand of 20-year-old Bashir Sale, in prison custody for allegedly defiling a six-year-old girl.
Sale who resides at Rinji Sharada Quarters, Gwale Local Government Area of Kano, is charged with rape.
He however pleaded not guilty to the one count charge.
Chief Magistrate Muhammad Jibril, ordered that the accused person be remanded in prison custody and adjourned the case until June 19, for mention.
Earlier, the prosecutor, Insp. Pogu Lale, had told the court that one Dahiru Sa’idu of the same address reported the case at Shahuchi Police Division Kano, on March 6.
He said that on the same date at about 2 p.m, Sale lured the complainants 6-year-old younger sister into a toilet at his residence situated at Rinji Sharada Quarters Kano and had unlawful sexual intercourse with her.
The prosecutor said that the offence contravenes section 283 of the penal code.(NAN)
