Katsina State Governor, Aminu Masari says the abductors of the students of Government Science Secondary School (GSSS), Kankara, Katsina State have released them.
He said that all the abducted students were released.
Masari, who gave the confirmation on Thursday in Katsina, said the students released were 344.
The governor added that the government had already sent vehicles to convey the Kankara boys to Katsina, the state captal.
He said that arrangements had been made for their medical treatment, adding that the government did not pay ransom for the release.
The governor also took to Twitter to announce the release.
He tweeted:
Alhamdu lillah. We are extremely happy to announce the rescue of the #KankaraBoys from their abductors. 344 are now with the security agencies and will be moved to Katsina this night. They will be given proper medical attention and care before being reunited with their families. pic.twitter.com/Ru0eJhdh2x

Reports say that the freed students had already arrived neighbouring Zamfara State.
Recall that Masari had confirmed that the leadership of the Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association (MACBAN) was helping with the negotiations.
It could not be immediately confirmed to what extent their help contributed to the release of the Kankara boys.
