Sultan of Sokoto

The Sultan of Sokoto, Alhaji Sa’ad Abubakar III, has called for justice for the victims of the accidental bombing in Tudun Biri, Igabi Local Government Area of Kaduna State.

The Kaduna State government confirmed the tragic incident that happened last Sunday and blamed the Nigerian Army for it.

Speaking on Friday at the 11th Emir of Jama’a’s Silver Anniversary celebration at the Emir’s Palace in Kafanchan, Alhaji Muhammad Isa-Muhammad stressed the need for justice to win in the wake of the unintentional bombing.

He stated that the occasion was not just for celebration but also an opportunity to offer prayers for those who lost their lives during the incident while celebrating Maulud.

“We are here not only to celebrate the emir but to also pray for the emirate and the lives of those killed in Kaduna State. We are going to push for it until justice is served to the people,” the Sultan said.

Former Kaduna State Governor Nasir El-Rufai and the 14th Emir of Kano, Muhammadu Sanusi II, visited the affected village and jointly contributed N10 million to support the affected community.

President Bola Tinubu has ordered a comprehensive investigation into the incident, according to Chief of Defence Staff General Christopher Musa, who also expressed regret over the unintentional bombing and promised that serious action would be taken to prevent similar incidents in the future.

According to Ahmed Nuhu Bamalli, the Chairman of the Council of Chiefs and Emirs in Kaduna State and Emir of Zazzau, traditional rulers should have constitutional powers because of their close relationship with grassroots communities.

He urged the people of Southern Kaduna to unite for peace, especially during the 25th-anniversary celebration of the Emir of Jama’a.

The Emir of Jama’a, Alhaji Muhammad Muhammad, expressed gratitude to the state government and all those who supported and prayed for his success during the event.
