Former Chelsea manager Gianluca Vialli believes that Juventus should ‘park the bus’ in order to win the Champions League against Barcelona.
The Italian champions meet the Spanish champions in Berlin on June 6 looking for their first taste of European glory since 1996.
Barcelona’s fearsome attack of Lionel Messi, Neymar and Luis Suarez makes Luis Enrique’s men favourites, but Vialli reckons his old club can orchestrate a win by copying Chelsea’s ‘parked bus’ tactic.
They will have to defend with so many men behind the line of the ball, even if that means parking the bus
He said: “They will have to defend with so many men behind the line of the ball, even if that means parking the bus like [Jose] Mourinho and [Roberto] Di Matteo.
“Barcelona are stronger, don’t forget that. They’re best encountered in a one-off game as they’re rarely below-par twice. If you have people like Messi, Neymar and Suarez, you can do a lot of damage.”
