According to online news agency, the Signal, the PDP have resolved to cancel the national convention slated to hold this weekend in Port Harcourt.
The Party seem to have instead plopped for a caretaker committee that will resolve the disputes within the party and unite them.
The Signal reports that a insider who pled anonymity gave details stating “As I am speaking to you now, top level meetings are going on and top on the agenda of the meetings is the cancellation of the convention to pave way for a Caretaker Committee that will unite the party.”
The Signal’s source added that key players in the party were worried about Alimodu Sherrif and his supporters and the implications of his ambitions.
Governor of Rivers Nyesom Wike had earlier stated that the convention would hold despite a restraining order from the court restraining the party from electing into certain offices.
