Solomon Arase who served as the Inspector General of Police may have been replaced according to reports.
His successor who takes on the role in an acting capacity is Ibrahim Idris according to the Vanguard.
Arase who turns 60 today has had to leave the service due to his age and it was reported that many candidates were already jostling for the position.
The Vanguard reports that Arase and Idris have just left the office of President Buhari where a short meeting was held.
All that’s being awaited is an official statement.
Idris served as Assistant Inspector-General of Police in charge of federal operations, Force Headquarters, Abuja.
