Armed gunmen suspected to be bandits early Monday morning abducted an unconfirmed number of students of Bethel Secondary School, Maramara in Chikun Local Government Area of Kaduna State.
The boarding school located on the outskirts of Kaduna was invaded around 1:00 am, Daily Post reported.
The suspect bandits, a witness said, began to shoot sporadically into the air as they found their way into the school.
A security guard at the school, Daniel Muhuta said he was at the back of the school dormitory when the assailants arrived around 1:00 am.
He said it was a “narrow escape” for him as he could have been abducted or killed.

Security agents have cordoned off the area as of 7 am, as many parents have assembled on the premises upon learning about the incident.
The Kaduna State Police Command has yet to confirm the attack.
