Secretary to the Ondo State Government, Ifedayo Abegunde has resigned his position with immediate effect.
He communicated this in a letter dated July 6 and addressed to the Governor, Arakunrin Rotimi Akeredolu.
In the terse letter sighted by The Herald, Abegunde thanked the governor for giving him the opportunity to serve in his administration.
The SSG, who is an ally of the Deputy Governor, Agboola Ajayi, is expected to defect from the All Progressives Congress (APC) to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), although he has promised to make his next move known in the next 24 hours.
Recall that Ajayi defected from the APC to PDP back in June.
However, the deputy governor vowed not to resign his position no matter the level of intimidation.
