JUST IN: Nigerians Mourn As Sound Sultan Dies

The demise of singer, Olanrewaju Fasasi, popularly known as Sound Sultan at the age of 44 has sent Nigerians into mourning.

A family member, Dr. Kayode Fasasi disclosed in a statement that the musician lost his battle with Angioimmunoblastic T-Cell Lymphoma.

“It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our multitalented veteran singer, rapper, songwriter Olanrewaju Fasasi aka Sound Sultan.

“He passed away at the age of 44 following a hard-fought battle with Angioimmunoblastic T-Cell Lymphoma.

“He is survived by his wife, three children and his siblings.

“We, his family will appreciate the utmost privacy as we come to grips with this tragic loss,” the statement read.

Since the Sunday announcement, many Nigerians have taken to social media to mourn Sound Sultan’s demise.

McAndy N. A. Okwu wrote, “At a time, he was my most favourite Naija artist. May his soul find eternal rest with his Maker.”

George Sol’Manuel Zino wrote, “‘One day the bush meat go catch the hunter,’ I love that song. May his soul find peace with the Lord. Sleep on brother!!!”
