Chief David Onoja has been confirmed as Kogi state deputy governor. Onoja, who was the immediate past Chief of Staff to Governor Yahaya Bello, was on Monday, October 21, confirmed at exactly 8:27 am by the state house of assembly
Prince Mathew Kolawole, the speaker of the house, urged the new deputy governor to support Bello’s plan to bring more great development in the state.
The Herald earlier reported that the impeached deputy governor of state, Elder Simon Achuba, claimed that he was treated like a common criminal moments after the State House of Assembly made its pronouncement about his removal.

Achuba said the state was fast degenerating into a “banana republic” where lawlessness reigned supreme.
According to him, moments after “the purported impeachment” by the state assembly, his security details were withdrawn and policemen thereafter barricaded his official residence in Lokoja keeping him under “house arrest”.
