Serie A team, AS Roma have parted ways with manager, José Mourinho.
The club disclosed this in a statement published in its website on Tuesday.
According to the statement, Mourinho and his coaching staff will depart the club with immediate effect.
The 60-year-old Portuguese tactician joined the club in May 2021.
He led the Giallorossi to win the Conference League in May 2022, and to the Europa League final in Budapest last season.
However, the club have won just one of their last six Serie A games and been knocked out of the Coppa Italia by city rivals Lazio, which saw him getting booed by fans on Sunday night.
Club president and vice president, Dan and Ryan Friedkin wished him well.
“We would like to thank José on behalf of all of us at AS Roma for his passion and efforts since his arrival at the club.
“We will always have great memories of his tenure at Roma, but we believe that an immediate change is in the best interests of the club.
“We wish José and his assistants all the best in their future endeavours,” they said in the statement.
