The Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Egbetokun is presently in Jos, the Plateau State capital, following a series of attacks that left no fewer than 148 dead in the state.
The police disclosed the IGP’s visit to the troubled state in a Friday post on X.
According to the post, the police chief will meet with Plateau state governor, Caleb Mutfwang and other stakeholders.
Egbetokun has also ordered the deployment of tactical teams and equipment and ordered the relocation of Assistant Inspector General of Police (AIG) in charge of Zone 4, Ebong Eyibio, to Plateau State with immediate effect.
The Herald can report that AIG Zone 4 has Benue, Plateau and Nasarawa states under his jurisdiction.
