Commissioner for Information and Strategy in Niger State, Mallam Idris Mohammed has been abducted.
He was reportedly abducted Sunday night by heavily-armed gunmen who stormed his home in Baban Tunga, Tafa local government area of the state.
Although the State Police Command has yet to confirm the abduction, a source close to the victim’s family told newsmen that the assailants that stormed the commissioner’s house numbered about 20.
The source said that the gunmen reached the house around 11 pm amid heavy rainfall and shot sporadically into the air before whisking their victim to an undisclosed location.
No contact has been made with the victim’s family, The Herald learnt.
