A section of the Mammy Market located within Mogadishu Cantonment in Abuja was gutted by an early Wednesday morning fire.
Although the cause of the fire could not be immediately ascertained, the timely intervention of Federal Capital Territory(FCT) Fire Service and the Nigerian Navy and Nigerian Air Force(NAF) fire departments prevented the fire from escalating.
The firemen were said to have raced to the scene to prevent further damage to property within the cantonment popularly known as Abacha barracks.
The cantonment is located along the Abuja/Nyanaya road.
