Former Governor of Oyo State, Otunba Christopher Adebayo Alao-Akala is dead.
He was 71.
Although details are sketchy, The Herald gathered that the ex-senior police officer died in his sleep in the early hours of Wednesday.
Publicity Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Oyo State, Dr. Olatunde Abdulazeez confirmed the news.
“The news of his death is out. He did his best for the state. May his soul rest in peace,” Abdulazeez said.
Alao-Akala is the second prominent son of Ogbomoso to die in a month, following the demise of Soun Ogbomoso, Oba Oladunni Oyewumi.
