After four years on the throne, the Emir of Zazzau in Kaduna State, Alhaji Shehu Idris, has died.
He was 84 years old.
He died Sunday morning at an Army 44 Reference Hospital in Kaduna, where he was briefly admitted, The Herald gathered.
Idris was installed as the 18th Emir of Zazzau in 1975 when he was 36 years old.
Personal Assistant on New Media to President Muhammadu Buhari, Bashir Ahmad, confirmed the news.
“The Emir of Zazzau, Alhaji (Dr.) Shehu Idris died at the age of 84, he had been on the throne for over 40 years.
“May Allah (SWA) forgive all his shortcomings and grant him Jannah al-Firdaus,” Ahmad wrote on Twitter.
