Few hours after Muhammadu Sanusi II arrived at Loko, a town in Nasarawa state, the dethroned emir of Kano, has reportedly left his residence for another town.
The Herald gathered that Sanusi was airlifted in a helicopter to another town, Awe, also in Nasarawa state. Although there has not been any official report on why he relocated to Awe.
Before Sanusi was taken away to the state, he was said to have been put under house arrest by the heavy security personnel of DSS, Police and Military.
Earlier, The Herald reported that Governor Ganduje of Kano state has dethroned the Emir of Kano, Mallam Muhammadu Sanusi II over offences described as disrespect to the office of the governor and other government agencies.
Announcing the dethronement of the first class monarch, the secretary to the state government, Alhaji Usman Alhaji, said the removal was with immediate effect.
According to the government of Kano state, the removal of Sanusi was done with the consent of relevant stakeholders in the ancient City.

The state government urged the people of Kano to stay calm and go about their normal business as a replacement for the Emir will be announced soon.
Sanusi and Governor Ganduje of Kano have been at loggerheads in the state for quite a while. The situation between both core Northern personalities was seen as the catalyst for the division of Kano into four distinct emirates.
