The National Council of State has approved N27,000 as the new national minimum wage.
The new national minimum wage will cover state workers and the private sector.
However, the council resolved that Federal Government workers should earn N30,000 minimum wage as proposed by the tripartite committee on new minimum wage.
The council made the decision at its first meeting of the year at the Presidential Villa, Abuja on Tuesday.
The Minister of Labour and Employment, Dr Chris Ngige made this known to State House correspondents after the closed-door meeting of the council, adding that a bill would be forwarded to the National Assembly on the matter.
