Coronavirus cases in Nigeria have hit 81, as the country recorded 11 more on Friday, the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has disclosed.
NCDC stated this in a tweet at 11:55 pm on Friday.
It said that 8 of the fresh cases were recorded Lagos, 2 in Enugu and 1 in Edo State.
According to the agency, 3 of the 81 cases have recovered from the disease while 1 has died.
“11 new cases of #COVID19 have been reported in Nigeria: 8 in Lagos, 2 in Enugu & 1 in Edo State.
“As at 11:55 pm 27th March, there are 81 confirmed cases of #COVID19 reported in Nigeria. 3 have been discharged with 1 death,” NCDC tweeted.

Earlier in the day, the agency had announced five more cases, bringing the total to 70, before the latest announcement.
Also, NCDC and the Federal, as well as state ministries of health continued to emphasize the need to stay at home, observe social distancing, wash hands regularly and abide by other guidelines to halt the spread of the virus.
Since its discovery in Wuhan, Hubei Province of China in December 2019, coronavirus has spread to 181 countries, affecting 585,040 and causing 26,819 deaths as at Friday, March 27.
A 44-year-old Italian man who first tested positive for coronavirus in Nigeria has since been discharged after being treated at the Infectious Disease Hospital, Yaba, Lagos for weeks.
