A town called Gaidam in the suburbs of Yobe state is currently being attacked by terrorists suspected to be Boko Haram. Daily Trust reported that the Islamic fanatics invaded the town this evening around 6 pm with heavy artillery, and began to shoot in different directions.
One of the community dwellers explained that the criminals seized the opportunity that it was a market day in the town, sneaked into their midst, and started the attacks.
He explained that they had been given warnings about an impending attack some days before so the army was prepared for them.
He further stated that Nigerian Airforce has arrived the scene with two of their fighter jets so as to provide aerial support. However, the attack has not been quelled until now.
