The gubernatorial ticket of the All Progressives Congress Congress (APC) in Ondo State will be decided through indirect primaries.
This emerged Wednesday following the Mai Mala Buni-led APC Caretaker Committee’s decision to stick to the primary election mode adopted by the dissolved National Working Committee (NWC) and transmitted to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
The party’s guber primary is slated for July 20.
The Herald learnt that the caretaker committee has also commenced the screening of 12 aspirants for the ticket with incumbent Governor Rotimi Akeredolu leading the pack.
Six of the aspirants, including Akeredolu, are said to have been screened as at Wednesday afternoon in an undisclosed location in Utako area of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
Others already screened for the ticket are Amb. Joseoh Olusola Iji, Chief Odimayo Okunjimi, Chief Olayide Owolabi Adelaml, Chief Issacs Kekemeke Duerlminl and Chief Olusola Oke.
